Our Founder

Dennis Cady went to Southeast Asia as a missionary when he was 20 years old. He has been in over twenty countries in North, Central and South America, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. He has witnessed poverty and hopelessness that would break the heart of any caring person. On the other hand we in America live in luxury. We have gotten so used to our standard of living that we think it is the norm but it isn’t. We have a stable government, free public education, available medical care and capital to make dreams a reality for those with a good work ethic. These have made possible for us things not possible for most of the world. We are also generous. We frequently respond first and with the most when needs are made known.

Unwilling to just send a check to some of the international organizations whose overhead can consume 40% and more of each dollar received, in 2007 Dennis decided to form a 501(c)(3) foundation known as STARFISH a vehicle through which lives could be changed and opportunities could be created for those who have so little.

Dennis is willing to travel where ever needed to tell of the work of Starfish Foundation. He asks no commitment other than a willingness to hear.
